Citations   Isea, R. (2024). Can Non-Heart Diseases like Diabetes and Sleep Apnea be Detected by an ECG. Virol Res Rev, 1(1), 01-06 PDF:  https://www.opastpublishers.com/open-access-articles/can-nonheart-diseases-like-diabetes-and-sleep-apnea-be-detected-by-an-ecg.pdf Abstract An electrocardiogram (ECG) is frequently used to identify heart problems, but it can also identify apnea, diabetes, and other conditions that are not heart-related. The study uses deep learning methods from artificial intelligence, particularly the Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) approach, to look for patterns in ECG data. To predict illness, two different methodologies are used. The first approach makes use of an ECG scale, while the second employs a gradient-boosting machine (GBM)-based learning technique. The MIT-BIH Arrhythmia database, the Normal Sinus Rhythm database, the BIDMC Congestive Heart Failure database, the Sleep Apnea database, the type 2 diabetes mellitus dataset, and the dataset for healthy v

Citation : Raúl Isea (2021) Analytical Solutions of the Transmissibility of the SARS-CoV-2 in Three Interactive Populations. International Journal of Coronaviruses - 2(4):1-8. https://doi.org/10.14302/issn.2692-1537.ijcv-21-3732 PDF:  https://openaccesspub.org/article/1571/ijcv-21-3732.pdf Abstract This paper resolves analytically a mathematical model that reproduces the transmission of Covid-19 in three interactive populations, i.e. from the initial source of contagion associated with the bat population, subsequently transmitted to unknown host (usually associate with pangolins). The host were sent and distributed to Seafood Market in Wuhan (defined reservoir), and finally infected to the human population. The model is based on a system of ten differential equations reproducing all the possible infection scenarios among all of them, that is: (1) there is no infection in any of the three populations, (2) only the population of bats is infected, (3) only the pangolins, (4) only the hu

A Missing Data on Covid-19 Forecasts

Citation : Raúl Isea (2021) A Missing Data on Covid-19 Forecasts. International Journal of Coronaviruses - 3(2):27-31. https://doi.org/10.14302/issn.2692-1537.ijcv-21-3918 PDF:  https://openaccesspub.org/article/1685/ijcv-21-3918.pdf Abstract Mathematical and computational studies of Covid-19 have underestimated the influence that other countries have on their daily records. To visualize this, a Granger causality analysis was implemented in Python to determine if the cases registered in Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Panama, Paraguay, Peru and the USA have any effect on Venezuela, and between all of them. Finally, this paper highlights the need to incorporate causality analysis employing only the cases of Covid-19 to improve mid and long term forecasts.

A General Approach to Modeling Covid-19

Citation : Raul Isea(2023). A General Approach to Modeling Covid-19. Journal of Model Based Research – 2(2):1-19. https://doi.org/10.14302/issn.2643-2811.jmbr-23-4556 PDF:  https://openaccesspub.org/article/1977/jmbr-23-4556.pdf Abstract The present work shows that it is possible to analytically solve a general model to explain the transmission dynamics of SARS-CoV-2. First, the within-host model is described, and later a between-host model, where the coupling between them is the viral load of SARS-CoV-2. The within-host model describes the equations involved in the life cycle of SARS-CoV-2, and also the immune response; while that the between-Host model analyzes the dynamics of virus spread from the original source of contagion associated with bats, subsequently transmitted to a host, and then reaching the reservoir (Huanan Seafood Wholesale Market in Wuhan ), until finally infecting the human population

Is it possible to develop a vaccine against depression based on microRNA?

Citation: Isea R. Is it possible to develop a vaccine against depression based on microRNA? Pharm Pharmacol Int J. 2023;11(5):179‒181.  PDF:   Is it possible to develop a vaccine against depression based on microRNA? Abstract It is difficult to create vaccinations to prevent mental diseases like depression because of their complex underlying mechanisms. In order to create an effective vaccine, the underlying causes of these diseases must be understood. In addition, it has been observed that microRNAs are crucial regulators of various cell functions, including proliferation, growth, differentiation, neoplastic transformation, and tissue regeneration. Their importance goes beyond posttranscriptional control of gene expression. In light of this, the study recommends employing microRNA in the production of live-attenuated vaccines to produce strong, long-lasting immunity against mental diseases.

Is Vagus Nerve Therapy a Potential Alzheimer's Disease Treatment?

Citation : Raul Isea (2023) Is Vagus Nerve Therapy a Potential Alzheimer's Disease Treatment?. International Journal of Global Health - 2(1):40-42. https://doi.org/10.14302/issn.2693-1176.ijgh-23-4854 PDF:  https://openaccesspub.org/ijgh/article/2054 Abstract A potential treatment for Alzheimer's disease is vagus nerve therapy, which has been made possible by considerable advances in neuroscience. An essential component of the autonomic nervous system, the vagus nerve regulates memory, inflammation, and cognition. Researchers hope to delay the progression of Alzheimer's disease and improve cognitive function by implanting a vagus nerve stimulator (VNS). Alzheimer's patients have higher heart rate variability, according to an ECG study, which may be advantageous. To completely grasp its mechanics and long-term effectiveness, more research is necessary.
